More Than Just Dance Classes
Festival Work
Selected pupils take part in festival work, competing against other dance schools. This is an excellent way to learn how to present the dance work in a theatre setting. This requires additional lessons and lots of practise at home.
Exams
These are held annually with an external examiner present from the IDTA. All pupils are given the opportunity to enter although it is not compulsory. If grade examinations are to be taken, then additional lessons may be required in the run up to the exams.
Charity Shows
Dancetec Academy stages charity shows, usually every couple of years. All our pupils are involved. We like to make this an occasion that all the family can enjoy and it often takes the form of a panto. Some parents give their voluntary support in helping with the organisation of these events.
