General classes are held on Friday evenings at the Methodist Church Hall, Austhorpe Road,Cross Gates, Leeds 15
Times are between 5.45 pm and 9 pm. Please telephone for specific details.
Tutoring for specific dance events, bespoke choreography by arrangement.
Festival Work
Selected pupils take part in festival work, competing against other dance schools. This is an excellent way of learning how to present work. Extra lessons are necessary to progress this kind of work.
Exams
External IDTA examinations are held annually, typically between March and July. All pupils are offered the chance to enter in all genres. For technical grade examinations, some additional lessons may be required and practise is encouraged at home.
Show work
Shows are generally once every two years. All pupils are involved. At Dancetec we make our charity shows an occasion for all the family, usually staging either a pantomime or cabaret evening. Parents give their voluntary support in helping with the organisation on the night.
Over the years we have raised many thousands of pounds for local charities such as St Gemma’s Hospice, Martin House Children’s Hospice, Mencap, Jane Tomlinson Appeal.
