What our pupils say…
I can’t remember a time when I didn’t dance! I think I was about 5 years old when I started dancing with Tricia at Dancetec. I loved the shows and dancing competitions they were so much fun to be involved in and over the years I made so many ‘dancing’ friends. Tricia’s dance classes and shows were the very start of my performing career.
After leaving school I left home to study musical theatre for 3 years. I moved to London and did a further years training at London School of Musical Theatre. I have worked in musical theatre both in London and Yorkshire, performed in music videos and also worked for ITV ‘s This Morning. I am currently in Grease the Musical on board a Swedish cruise ship.

I started dancing at Dancetec as a youngster aged 5 and stayed until the age of 13. With lots of opportunities to perform on stage with Dancetec, my love for dance and theatre grew. My Saturday Dancetec classes were the beginning of many years training in musical theatre.
I graduated at York St.John with a degree in dance and also hold a diploma in professional musical theatre from SLP. After graduating from SLP I moved to London to finally pursue a career in the industry. Since graduating I have worked as a actress, dancer and model across London and Yorkshire.

I wouldn’t know where to begin to thank Tricia Robinson for what she has given me. As a pupil of hers I developed a love for dance, and Tricia always made sure to nurture every child’s unique talent, and her love and passion for the arts is as vibrant now as when I was a child. My training with her led onto a professional career in dance and performing arts, and I have had the great fortune of performing in theatres around the UK and abroad, including television.
I think the skills I learnt from her training I’ve re-used over and over again in my life many times. I feel good dance training not only gives you discipline, technique, fitness and a good work ethic, it also gives you confidence, helps build friendships, provides posture and presence, and the ability to communicate on a variety of levels. I have gone on to become a fitness trainer myself including Zumba and Pilates instructor, and to say my qualifications were easy, was really down to my training I had with Tricia for all those years. Once you’ve mastered dance training you feel you can master anything.
I know I will continue to look to her as a mentor for years to come, and it is safe to say my whole life has been shaped by the dance training and experiences I had under her schooling. I can’t even imagine what my life would look like without it. Thank you Tricia Robinson I will be forever grateful for the dance and life skills you have given me.

Thank you so much, Tricia, for all your support. The last 13 years at Dancetec have been amazing! I’ve gained so much experience from the classes and all the shows, it’s really helped my confidence to grow. Hope to see everyone again soon!

I have been dancing with Tricia for eleven years and have had the opportunity to learn ballet, tap and modern, as well as numerous disco and show dances. The friendly, encouraging environment has meant I have made great friends and really enjoyed learning to dance, and I will really miss it when I leave for university.
